The very latest concept in architectural/landscape photography is to incorporate HD video into the mix. Illustrate a project's flow: shoot video of a project in use. For example, show an office building lobby with people passing through it. Like the following sample video, show how the project looks in its environment with traffic running by and grass waving in the foreground.
Shooting with the Canon 5D Mark II camera gives me lots of advantages. The quality of the video, HD 1080i video, is unsurpassed. Some feature films and television shows are being shot with this camera for some applications. A recent episode of "House" was shot entirely with the Canon 5D MII. The extensive lens options provide many creative opportunities.
Because the Canon 5D MII is my primary still photography camera for shooting Arch/Lan photography, shooting video in the course of creating still images of a project makes the process much more affordable than hiring a videographer.
The sample video attached was taken in the course of a pre-shoot of this project in Ramsey, MN. Video like this can easily be incorporated into a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation or uploaded to a web site. This is a full resolution video sample which can also be resized and posted to YouTube or Vimeo.
The following is a brief time lapse video composed of approximately 160 still images.
