A splendid lower level residential reimagining project executed by one of my clients. Several showcase features made this a worthwhile project to shoot. This "money shot" photo showed off the curved built in table and the hand laid slate base and fireplace wall. In addition to shooting and processing this image using HDR techniques to balance highlights and shadows, two sets of images were shot to increase Depth of Field. One set focused in on the foreground table and chair. The second set was set to focus on the background. They were all merged in post processing.
This project also filled a wish list for the client: a gift wrap station. Essentially, an enhanced secretary, this area provides ample room and details to facilitate gift wrapping, shipping, and correspondence.
Shadow boxes set into the stairway wall and complete fitness room with another unique feature: a secret room concealed by a bookcase.
I try to impress upon my clients how important feature images are to help create a fleshed out portfolio of a project. Here are some of the detail images taken for this project.
For another client who remodeled their kitchen...this firm tries to incorporate two unique features in every residential project: a Command Center, also known as a "de-clutterer" has a variety of shelves for all of the "stuff" that accumulates on kitchen counters. Numerous shelves provide organization for bills, mail, and other items. A recharging shelf with an electrical outlet is perfect for all of those mobile devices and cables. A purse drawer is another GREAT feature for making space on the kitchen counters. Just pull the drawer open to reveal slots for purses and handbags.
The command center is also evident in the following image on the left side of the frame. This is a cylindrical panorama, perfect for a space like this kitchen, also in Eden Prairie. Three sets of images (5 exposures each) totaling 15 images were processed as HDR images and stitched together using dedicated panorama software.
