Image construction starts with the press of the shutter...but there's a whole lot more to it! I'm just diving into a project for one of my favorite architectural clients who designed a large school addition/remodeling/repurposing for the Pillager School in north central Minnesota, near Brainerd. In spite of the town's 469 person population, this school's enrollment has swelled to almost double the town's population. It draws from a large rural area surrounding Pillager. The project encompassed over 63,000 square feet.
The first image constructed for this project combines 5 exposures using Nik HDR Efex. The Black and White version, created on spec, was constructed from OnOne Software's Perfect BW application using a custom pre-set. Black and White architectural photos, largely ignored in the commercial realm, may be staging a comeback. More to follow!
