I taught a photo workshop at the Davis-Winton-Nelson house in Orono last night. Our gracious hosts, Bob and Carolyn Nelson, gave us complete access to their Philip Johnson designed home. Built in 1954, Johnson intended this home to be the opposite of his famous Glass House. Instead of a glass house with a brick center, he created a brick house with a glass center. The image below is composed of 8 separate images taken at 1-stop intervals to reveal shadows and highlights and processed using HDR Efex Pro.
The following was composed of two sets of 4 images processed as HDR. One set was precisely focused on the background; the second set was focused on the foreground sculpture.
The following are grab shots of some of the participants in the workshop.
