As the following photos dramatically illustrate, before-after photo comparisons have lots of advantages. I always urge my architectural and landscape clients to take these photos before they begin a project. Here are some important points: 1. Before-after photos are tremendous marketing tools. They help potential clients envision what their own project can look like after it's done. 2. They are a stark reminder of how "bad" the old space looked and, conversely, how great it looks now. 3. Incorporating new features and finishes can vividly be illustrated. 4. Before photos provide a blueprint for me as a photographer to help understand what the project designer or architect was trying to accomplish. 5. Although before photos are not taken with much attention to photo and composition techniques, the after images I create help showcase my skills, too.
Take a look at these dramatic before-after photos from two recent lower level residential projects.
