Virtual Backgrounds are a way to effectively add continuity and perpetuity to your images. Instead of hiring me to come to your office to photograph each new staff member, you can send them to my studio for portraits. They are extracted from the white (neutral) background and placed on literally any background. In the example below, the client wanted to represent their staff attorneys in a variety of downtown Minneapolis scenes. Using a library I previously created of street scenes in Minneapolis, I placed each attorney on a slightly different background. In this case, she appears as though she might have been photographed in downtown Minneapolis.
In the next example, I photographed a number of background views of this company's offices. Their decor features a raw brick wall with period windows. In order to keep the photos authentic, each person is placed on a slightly different background.
I'm always on the look out for interesting places that might provide good backgrounds for this type of imagery. When I set up to shoot in a vacant office space, I noticed some unusual color combinations and light. I took a picture of it. Some time later, the background came in handy for another client.
The following illustrates some other Virtual Background options.
