Social Distancing Architectural Photography
Architectural Photography Safe and Simplified

We are taking numerous steps to add a social distancing element to all of our architectural project photography shoots. The health, safety, and security of everyone including our clients and other stakeholders is paramount. At the same time, we want to make sure people who would normally participate in photo shoots have the same access to providing guidance and input. The goal, of course, is to create architecture images that meet the needs of our clients by showcasing the exteriors and interiors they design and build.
Normally, architects, interior designers, and landscape architects can see what we are planning to shoot by using an iPad to see the images on "live view."

The camera is wirelessly connected to an iPad using an application called CamRanger. Clients can make suggestions about content and composition. They can also see each image after it is shot, zoom in, and move around the image to check details.

Now, clients have the ability to do the same thing on their own device while standing at a safe distance of 30 feet or more away from the camera, iPad, and us (photographer and assistant). They can download an app onto their own smartphone or tablet and accomplish the same thing as if they were standing much closer to us and looking at our iPad.

Moreover, the client can share the images via email or a platform like Dropbox as they are taken. That way, they can communicate with other project designers and marketing people who may be in their offices or in another location.
If clients choose to supervise the photo shoot remotely from their office in another city we can also send the images as they are shot in the same way. That way, architects and designers are not prevented from participating in the photo shoot because of travel restrictions.
Finally, we are following health and safety protocols by disinfecting interior areas where we shoot before and after the photography. We also wear masks and gloves. All camera equipment is cleaned prior to the photo shoot.
